Passwords is a modern Material 3 password manager for Android, built with local encryption, optional SQL cloud sync, and system-wide Autofill.

1) Getting Started & Security

First Steps with Passwords

First-time setup

Create your master password. Optionally enable biometric unlock. Optionally import existing passwords from CSV.

Unlocking

Unlock with master password. Optional biometric unlock on supported devices.

Local encryption

All local password data is encrypted at rest. Data is stored in an encrypted file inside private app storage.

2) Password Management

Managing Your Passwords

Browse and search

Passwords are grouped by domain/app. Fast search by domain or username.

Add a new password

Fields: Domain/App, Username/Email, Password, Note. Saved locally immediately. Optional automatic SQL push when Auto-Sync is enabled.

Edit existing entries

Select an account per domain. Update username, password, and note. Save or delete with clear actions.

Entry details

Clean detail view for each credential. Quick copy for username and password.

3) CSV Import & Export

Manage your password vault with CSV files for portability.

4) Autofill

Seamless Autofill Integration

Autofill service

Native Android Autofill Service integration. Detects login fields for username and password. Suggests matching credentials by website/app context.

Set as default Autofill provider

In-app status indicator and shortcut to system settings. Includes fallback navigation for different Android variants.

Save-new-login flow

Android save prompt can appear for newly created accounts. Confirmed credentials are saved directly into Passwords.

5) SQL Sync (Cloud)

Syncing with Your Database

Supported databases

MySQL / MariaDB / SQLite (local mode)

Configuration

Host/IP, Port, Database name, User, Password. Test connection before syncing. Save configuration securely.

Sync modes

Sync now: Upload local vault to database. Sync from cloud: Download database entries to local vault. Auto-Sync: Push after local changes, periodic pull.

Encryption in cloud sync

Data is encrypted before upload. Downloaded data is decrypted and stored locally in encrypted form. No plaintext password flow.
